The Perfect Guide to a Tidy Room
Your clothes are all over the floor and your bed. The floor hasn’t seen daylight in months. The coffee stains in the mugs are probably not removable. You really need to clean your room, but it’s such a hassle. Is it really?
A lot of us see cleaning as the most boring thing in the world, while some see it as fun and time consuming.
No matter what you think of it you have to clean every now and then, and most of the time it turns out it’s not as bad as you thought it would be.
It’s always boring to start, but if you follow this list it might be a bit more fun.
- The very first thing you have to do is to put on some music. Preferably something which has some rhythm and speed to it, as this affects you and makes you work faster. Turn up the volume and throw in a few dance moves every now and then.
- Before you start the actual work sit down with a pen and paper and write down what you need to do, everything from taking out the litter to mopping the floor. Tick off what you have done eventually so that it won’t seem like you have lots left to do.
- What you should do first is to get a big, black bag to put all the litter in, so that you have it all in one place. Pick up everything which is on the floor to clear some space. This instantly makes your room seem tidier.
- Get rid of all the litter you can find in your room and put it in the black bag. Litter is what can leave smells and make the room look like a big mess, so it’s smart to get rid of it right away.
- Get a bucket with lukewarm/warm water and add soap which smells nice. The best scent for bedrooms is lavender as this is proven to help you sleep better at night. Clean all surfaces with a table cloth, the dust needs to go first.
- While you are still dancing along to whatever music you chose to listen to, get the Hoover and get all the dust and small pieces of this and that up from the floor. Yes, it’s the worst thing to do, but look on the bright side of it – you get some exercise from it!
- Put everything where it belongs. Magazines in the drawer, clothes in the closet, and CDs in the rack. If only you could put it back every time you had used it...
- Empty the water out of the bucket and fill it up with warm water and soap which is meant for floors. Get the mop and wash the floor like never before, it will look and smell nice once you are done.
- If you want to freshen up your room even more you can buy flowers (or pluck them from outside if possible) and put them in a vase at a suitable place in your room. If it’s time to relax after you have cleaned your room as well as this, why not light some candles?
Cleaning might not be fun even after using this list, but it’s one way to do it.
